Pablo Villanueva, U.S. Senior Economist - UBS

Prior to joining UBS, Pablo served as the Head of U.S. Research at Rokos Capital Management, a British-based alternative investment manager with over $9 billion of AUM. Prior to Rokos, Pablo had an extensive public sector career including with the Department of the Treasury, where he was nominated by President Obama to serve as Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets and Deputy Assistant Secretary for Macroeconomic Analysis. Previously, his time with the Department of the Treasury, Pablo worked for 15 years at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Pablo joined the Fed as a research economist, rising to the level of Deputy Director of the Division of Monetary Affairs, where he shaped the quantitative easing policy during the 2008 great financial crisis.

Keith Parker, Head of U.S. and Global Equity Strategy - UBS

Prior to UBS, Keith worked at Barclays as Director and Head of U.S. and Global Equity Strategy and Head of Cross-Asset Research. Keith constructed macroeconomic, cross-asset content, and equity strategy frameworks for the bank's client base. Keith joined Barclays in 2014 after 14 years with Deutsche Bank, where he worked in various strategy roles including Head of Alternative Equity Strategies, U.S. Equity Strategy, and, most recently, as Senior Strategist on the Global Asset Allocation Team. Keith began his financial services career at Deutsche Bank in global corporate finance, executing equity, debt, and M&A transactions.

Katie Sowers, NFL Coach

Katie Sowers is the second woman to hold a full-time NFL coaching position and the first openly gay coach in the NFL. Katie spent six seasons in the NFL and four as an offensive assistant with the San Francisco 49ers. She was recognized as one of the 100 Most Influential Women in Sport by Sport360 and has been featured in several publications such as ESPN, USA Today, and Forbes. Katie shared her experience on the benefits diversity brings to competitive team sports. 

Simple Tools for Making Better Choices

Annie Duke, Author, Speaker, and Decision Strategist

Annie is an author, corporate speaker, and decision strategist. Her latest book, "How to Decide: Simple Tools for Making Better Choices," was released in the fall of 2020. Her previous book, "Thinking in Bets," is a national bestseller. As a former professional poker player, she has won more than $4 million in tournament poker. During her career, Annie won a World Series of Poker bracelet and is the only woman to have won the World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions and the NBC National Poker Heads-Up Championship. She retired from the game in 2012. Prior to becoming a professional poker player, Annie was awarded a National Science Foundation fellowship to study cognitive psychology at the University of Pennsylvania. Annie discussed how behavioral biases can lead to suboptimal decisions and provided a framework to combat biases and make better decisions.

Steve has appeared on Bloomberg Television and has been quoted in leading publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, and Barron’s. Steve provided his perspective on current and future policy initiatives of the Biden administration.

Sanjay is leading the development of a green hydrogen network as the Chief Strategy Officer at Plug Power. He brings nearly two decades of experience in clean tech and served as the CIO of a global solar independent power producer and president of Sky Capital Americas. Sanjay discussed the opportunities and challenges ahead as they deploy hydrogen fuel cell systems and the supporting infrastructure to decarbonize the transportation and logistics industries.

The panel also discussed implications for housing prices, leisure spending, and education within communities with limited broadband services.
