SWIB is recognized as a premier investment organization because of its strong management of the trust funds of the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), State Investment Fund (SIF) and several other smaller trust funds. By bringing a disciplined, prudent, and innovative approach to market opportunities, SWIB has been successful in generating respectable returns and maintaining the trust of the beneficiaries and stakeholders of the funds we oversee.
ASSETS UNDER MANAGEMENT
WISCONSIN RETIREMENT SYSTEM (WRS)
The largest portion of the assets managed by SWIB, about 89%, is the trust funds of the WRS.
About 10% is the SIF, a pool of cash balances of the WRS, various state, and local governmental units.
SEPARATELY MANAGED FUNDS
About 1% of total assets are other trust funds invested by SWIB.
