Anne-Marie Fink Named Private Markets & Funds Alpha Managing Director

The State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB) is excited to announce that Anne-Marie Fink is the agency’s new Private Markets and Funds Alpha Managing Director. As managing director, Fink is responsible for overseeing SWIB’s private equity, real estate, hedge funds, externally managed accounts, private debt, and venture capital portfolios. She will begin her new SWIB role on January 20, 2020.

“I am honored to be joining such an accomplished team and am looking forward to deploying my experience in helping provide secure retirements for Wisconsin’s public servants,” Fink said.

Fink has more than two decades of investment management experience, both in the public and private sectors. She has served as the chief investment officer for the Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island and for a large family office. She started her investment career at JP Morgan, where she spent more than 15 years as an equity and hedge fund analyst. Most recently, she was at State Street Global Advisors where she was the portfolio strategist for alternative investments.

“Anne-Marie will be a fantastic addition to SWIB’s leadership team,” Executive Director/Chief Investment Officer David Villa said. “Her deep domain experience and proven record of success will help SWIB continue its work to maximize returns, manage risk and optimize costs on behalf of the beneficiaries of the Wisconsin Retirement System.”

Fink earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and her MBA from Columbia University Business School. She is also the author of The Money Makers: How Extraordinary Managers Win in a World Turned Upside Down, which draws on her experience in observing best practices in business management across companies and industries.
